Creating this show was a particular challenge, as we wanted to increase the length of the episodes by several minutes compared to our other series, but didn’t have much room to increase the budget. As with our other shows, each episode was helmed by a single animator, who had to complete the episode with several rounds of notes in 8 days. To make this work, I developed a strong template for the animators to work with, which also helped maintain a higher level of consistency and quality. I created specialized animations for each character that the animators could use to make the animation process more efficient, and built out automation for the jaws and some minor body movement that was driven by the waveform of their dialogue tracks. In the end, 13 episodes were created, with the most popular averaging around 2M views, including a brand deal with the then upcoming Dreamworks picture, “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken”
