This show was the greatest challenge I had at DreamworksTV. After several successful infotainment series, our producer Matt Levy and I developed It’s School as our first in-house narrative series. As with all of our other series, the budget was incredibly limited, and I was the only person available to develop the visual aspects of the show. I created the character designs, background and environment, character rigs, animation, and editing. Each episode was completed in around 12 days – the first episode taking considerably longer since it was being built from scratch, but by the final episode we were able to cut down the length of production by nearly half. The greatest challenges were the musical sequences, letting reality break down and get really weird but still maintaining the level of quality we held ourselves to. While the show did not perform as well as we had hoped, it remains my greatest source of pride while working with that team.
